The ever-increasing demand of power has forced us to look for alternative sources of generating electricity. Apart from non-renewable energy resources such as solar and hydro power, the other alternative that could suffice the power demand and also put tab on greenhouse gas emissions is Thorium based nuclear power. The potential advantage of using thorium is that the energy generated through this fuel is huge with no carbon emission and its by-product cannot be used for destructive activities. It is about three times in abundance as compared to uranium and also the waste in this case is much less.

Pictometry: A Game Changer Technology
Pictometry, developed by Pictometry International Corporation, USA, is an emerging technology used for collecting aerial imagery and data by using drones. The pictometry imagery integrated with various GIS software is then used for various commercial, government, infrastructural, and international purposes.

Pictometry provides 1 foot or 6 inch natural color images depicting up to 12 oblique views shot from a 40 degree angle as well as an orthogonal (overhead) view of every location flown. These views can then be stitched together to create composite aerial maps that seamlessly span many miles of terrain.

Since the shots are taken from an angle, the pixels associated with Pictometry images are trapezoidal, rather than rectangular. This powerful visual intelligence when combined with the provided measuring and analytical tools leads to an efficient and accurate inspection and assessment of any resource.

Substance Designer: Node-based Texture Compositing
Substance Designer is a node-based texture compositing application software that lets you create substance files or bitmap textures. You can use it to texture assets and also bake model information (for example: normal, displacement, curvature, and so on). It contains a wide library of tools, materials, and procedural effects to help you achieve your objectives in a fully non-destructive workflow.

Substance Designer 4.3 integrates Yebis 2 to display accurate final renders in the viewport. Yebis 2 by Silicon Studio is the most advanced middleware for post effects. Using Yebis 2, you can visualize your assets in the 3D view as you imagine them; for example, you can add glare, flare, depth of field, light shafts, etc. to mimic your game engine or simply make amazing beauty shots.

Class A, Class B, and Class C Surfaces and their Application in Automotive Industries
Class surfaces are those aesthetic/free form surfaces which are mostly visible to us (interior/exterior), have an optimal aesthetic shape, and are of high surface quality. These surfaces are primarily used in the automotive industry and are increasingly used in manufacturing consumer goods, for example toothbrushes, palm PC's, mobile phones, washing machines, toilet lids, etc.

Class A surfaces are visible to us as they form the body side or the console. Class B surfaces are those that can be seen by the customer when a door or gate is opened, for example the seal flange of the doors, and Class C surfaces are those that are hidden and cannot be seen by the customer, for instance inner brackets or the b-side features of the plastic parts.
